Experience the best of Flåm with our full-day cycling tour. This immersive journey takes you through some of the most stunning landscapes and historic sites in Flåm, offering a day filled with adventure and discovery.
You will begin your adventure at Flåm Bike Rental, where you’ll pick up your touring bike.
This itinerary begins with a scenic ride on the Flåmsbana to Vatnahalsen. Known as one of the most beautiful train journeys in the world, the Flåmsbana offers panoramic views of the spectacular nature surrounding Flåm.. At Vatnahalsen, you will disembark and begin your cycling journey back to Flåm.

The journey to Kårdal is a thrilling one. From Vatnahalsen, cyclists navigate 21 hairpin bends alongside the river and the waterfall down Myrdalsberget. Its very steep and rocky in places, so we recommend to walk this part.
Upon reaching the bottom, you’ll arrive at Kårdal and the Kårdal summer farm, which is open from June to September every year.
Your second stop is Høgebru, a picturesque spot perfect for a short break and some photo opportunities. Then you continue your ride, passing by the powerful Rjoandefossen waterfall. Feel the mist on your face as you marvel at the cascading water against the rugged cliffs.
Next, you can visit the Flåm Old Church, a 17th-century structure that stands as a testament to Norway’s rich history. Take a moment to appreciate the intricate architecture and the serene surroundings of this ancient church.
The ride continues with a visit to the iconic Brekkefossen waterfall. Witness the awe-inspiring sight of water crashing down the rugged cliffs, a spectacle that is sure to leave you mesmerized.
Finally, you cycle towards Otternes, a charming cluster of farmhouses dating back to the 18th century. Here, you’ll get a glimpse of rural life in Norway, set against the backdrop of stunning natural beauty.
This full-day tour is suitable for adults, and children older than 12 years old. The first part is very steep, so we don't recommend riding it with small children. (but that's up to the parents to decide).
Please be aware that this route might not be open in the start and end of the season due to snow in the hairpin turns.

After visiting Rjoandefossen you turn back again with a quick detour to Brekkefossen waterfall.

Kårdal (Rallarrosa Stølsysteri):
Pedal your way up the valley following the road that goes beside the Flåm Railway to Kårdal, where you’ll find the charming Rallarrosa Stølsysteri. This traditional dairy farm offers a glimpse into Norway’s rural heritage. Take a leisurely stroll, explore the well-preserved farmsteads, and soak in the rustic beauty of the surroundings.
Høgabru:
After Kårdal you turn around again, and pedal back towards Flåm. On the way down you will first pass Høgabru. From the bridge you will see the spectacular cave waterfall.
Rjoandefossen:
Marvel at the majestic Rjoandefossen waterfall. You can view it from several viewpoints as you ride along the road. The waterfall’s power, colors, and shape make it a must-see.
Flåm Church (Flåm kyrkje):
Visit Flåm Church, a wooden parish church built in 1670. Admire its simple elegance and learn about its history. The church seats about 160 people and is a testament to Norway’s architectural heritage.
Brekkefossen:
Discover Brekkefossen, a serene waterfall close to Flåm city center. You can either admire it from the road or take a short hike to get closer. The effort is well worth it!
Otternes:
Conclude your tour with a visit to Otternes, a historic cluster of well-preserved farmsteads dating back several centuries. Explore the narrow pathways, soak in the tranquil atmosphere, and connect with Norway’s cultural heritage.
